Everybody has about 100,000 – 150,000 strings of hair. Whether it’s curly or straight, or any color, it’s all genetic. A person normally sheds 50-100 hairs per day, but it can be up to 200 if you wash your hair. The hot weather in summer causes hair to become oilier and attract bacteria and yeast to create itchiness. In most cases, this condition is not that serious but there are some people who are affected by this summer heat affliction. In order to understand more about your hair, let’s look at the life cycle of a hair. It is divided into three phases:
1. Anagen - the actively growing phase – protein and keratin are continuously made at the root of the hair which is in the dermis. It takes 1,000 days or 3 years for Hair has been a part of a “complete look”, so we should learn more about how to take care of it properly, especially

2. Catagen - the transitional phase – the hair stops growing, and remains in this phase for only
2-3 weeks before moving into the next phase.
3. Telogen - the resting phase – hair basically just sits on your head for about 3 months. Then, it
falls out only to be replaced by the next budding hair in the Anagen phase which begins to grow from the same hair follicle. Most common hair disorder is Seborrheic Dermatitis whose
cause is unknown. It mainly affects your scalp, causing scaly, itchy, red skin and stubborn dandruff.
Seborrheic dermatitis doesn’t affect your overall health, but it can be uncomfortable and
cause embarrassment when it is visible or appears on your body. It isn’t contagious, and it’s not a sign of poor personal hygiene either.
Ajarn Chinmanat said that it’s not hard to take care of this condition. All you need to do is rest well, avoid stress and alcohol intake as this increases body heat. You should wash your hair with shampoo that has Ketoconazole, Tar Shampoo, Salicylic acid, or Ciclopirox as ingredients. Ajarn Chinmanat added that ‘iron’ is the nutrient that your hair needs. So, you should eat enough red meat and green vegetables. If your ‘iron’ deposit is low, your hair
